Saturday, July 23, 2005 (CST) - Volunteering @ Open Door Missions

Sat. July 23 @ 7:45 a.m.: Come help serve at the Open Door Mission's shelter. We'll meet at the Church downtown and go from there.

Hey Everyone,

On July 23, we are planning to go out to volunteer for Open Door Mission. Open Door Mission is a Christ centered emergency relief and rehabilitation shelter, which is dedicated to meeting the needs of men in our community who are homeless, addicted, and destitute. Open Door is changing lives in the name of Jesus Christ, and needs our help.

The plan is for us to meet downtown at 7:45 a.m., and head out to Open Door Mission no later than 8:00. We will be serving breakfast and helping to prepare for lunch, so please dress comfortably. Open Door asks that we follow their dress code guidelines:

Please wear shirts with some kind of sleeve (short is fine)
No stomach showing or no short shirts
No short shorts for the girls.
Wear closed toed shoe to protect feet

There are no skills needed other than a heart for helping those in need, so please come out and help. The more we have volunteer, the less work it will be for each of us, the more fun we'll have, and the more we will show the light of Jesus Christ to people who don't see it very often.
Please respond to this e-mail to let me know if you'll be able help out.  If you'd like to meet us at Open Door Mission, the address is below, but please also e-mails me so that I'll know to look for you.

Location:

5803 Harrisburg
Houston, TX 77011
713-921-7520

Please RSVP online via Evite at http://www.evite.com/ct@fumc-ct.org/opendoor_july05

Hope to see you there!
Cora.

My initial exposure to RSB did not strike me as anything special or different but I really like their music now and seem to listen to this CD all the time. The CD will stand up not just to other Christian worship music but with anything out there in
