New Events Operation Compassion: Food Handling Training Our combined task will be to prepare, serve and clean up 75,000 meals per day ... State law requires that every volunteer must be trained (2 hours) in food handling. Displaced citizens will be referred now to the George R. Brown Convention Center and The HP Center. Katrina & UMC: Need Volunteers to Help with Meals From the Bishop: "Operation Compassion has been born through the combined efforts of all these religious leaders. Our combined task will be to prepare, serve and clean up 75,000 meals per day. It will require 240 trained volunteers per meal. The cost is approximately $1,000,000 per week."
